IMPORTANT: IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED
As a follow-up to my letter from yesterday regarding the Thome property, WE NEED YOU to take action and reach out to 40th Ward Alderman Andre Vasquez by: 1) SENDING AN EMAIL and 2) E-SIGNING A PETITION in support of demolition to make way for our expansion efforts. Both the email and the petition will take about 15-20 minutes total, and I hope you will take the time as it is important and necessary so Alderman Vasquez will know how important it is to all of us to start on this development.
In the past week, Alderman Vasquez has received numerous calls and emails in support of the building. He needs to hear from the entire Misericordia community regarding how important this project is for Misericordia and people waiting for services. Please share this request with your relatives, friends, and anyone else who you feel would support our efforts. When sharing this request with your contacts, please share my letter below (from yesterday) so they can see how long we have waited and that the building itself is not a landmark.
Important: Alderman Vasquez has been supportive of Misericordia, so please be respectful. He just needs to hear from us again now that the demolition date is near. The outreach at this stage is not normally part of the process, as we have already received permission from the city of Chicago. But because he has heard from so many people as of late, it is important that he once again hears from the Misericordia community.
