A New Year of Resiliency and Flexibility
As we look forward to the new year, we cannot help but first reflect on the last six months. There has been so much change and upheaval for the entire world. And yet, we have also seen an incredible outpouring of love and support for our residents and the Misericordia administration and staff. Never have we seen in such detail, the hard-work, critical thinking, and planning of Misericordia to keep our residents healthy, happy, and thriving despite the many restrictions imposed by the pandemic. And parents, siblings, or guardians, have also really stepped up to meet these challenges with new virtual fundraising, while finding creative and safe ways to connect with our loved ones during this time of physical separation.
As your MFA chairs, we are still learning how to best keep you informed, provide a welcoming community atmosphere, help the administration, fundraise, and keep abreast of legislative matters. We are so appreciative for the many ideas you have shared for how we can continue to support the amazing work of Sister Rosemary and her team.
We are grateful to every family for making the first-ever virtual 2020 MFA Benefit such a tremendous success! We are beyond thrilled that we raised even more funds for Misericordia than the previous year.
While we must plan for virtual meetings and events this year, please know that we still are committed to gathering in person when it is safe to do so. Any family member or guardian is welcome to attend MFA Board meetings (held from September-May) to learn more about what is happening at Misericordia, in the legislature, and with various MFA initiatives.
